Girls Volume 2 Emergence v 2 Joshua Luna Jonathan Luna Books

The bros Luna continue the story that snagged me in Girls v. 1. The Twilight Zone feel continues, with the horror factor building nicely.

The town turns out to be isolated from the world by an invisible shield - whatever is happening, they have to deal with it on their own. And it turns out that these sirens seem irresistable to men, as part of their brief but extremely fertile reproductive cycle. And not only are The Girls attacking and killing the women of the town, the dead women's bodies are disappearing. And then, the glowing, tailed globe ...

Really, you have to see it for yourself. I find the artwork competent, but not reason in itself to follow this series. It doesn't happen often, but the story has really drawn me in.

Girls Volume 2 Emergence v 2 Joshua Luna Jonathan Luna Books Reviews

girls by luna bros is one of my favorite comics being made today. now before you click on the "not helpful" button for this review, i assure you that this is very helpful, as i have great taste. that is all.
Girls, the new innovative comic series. Girls is one of those comics that you don't put down after one read. It's a series containing 24 issues with dynamic characters, beutiful art, compelling yet wierd story line (in a good way), it's labeled as a sci-fi drama meaning not a conventional hero comic, it's a mature comic for it has nudity, lots of intense language (gave me an alien series vibe.), and some of the most original conceptions for a comic book story I've ever read.

The story continues with the people of pennystown trying to leave after seeing some of the most strange and horrific things any human has ever encountered. The only officer of the town originizes everyone to leave but then they come to find out they're trapped. Now they must co-operate with each other and understand their crisis in order to stay alive. The vol. ends with you demanding more after the intense and gory battles and the search team finding out what has happend to their fallen comrades. Like the other volume they leave you at very climatic point in the story.

-If you've read Girls vol. 1 then no doubt your getting this one and 3.

-The story branchs out very widely with peoples different back-stories, and personalities. People seperate so different events are happening simultaniously.

-If you've never read a comic before this is perfect for starters it's what actually got me into comics in the first place. And apparently I'm not the only one. People have discussed in the Luna Brothers forums and myspace pages the same thing.

-Girls is also a good read that women can get into. That too has been stated in luna forums, with it's strong female and males roles in the story.

-If sex is one of your more favorite topics then; "Hell yeah!" This is for you! (AND NO THAT DOES NOT MEAN YOU'RE A PERVERT) The way things happen in Girls is very movie cinematic and well directed, like something softcore.

-As you can see on the cover their art work is great like it would perfectly already fit as a HBO animated mini series.

-I would highly recommend this for people wanting to try out comics just buying anything by the Luna Brothers that being Ultra, and Girls.
Luna bros always puts out a great story.
I bought the book new and the cover came completely off the first time I opened it. Great story- but trying to hold all the pages together while reading it was distracting, to say the least.
Okay, meh
The story and everything about the comic was great in itself. However; when I got the books, books 2 and 3's spine glue was weak or nonexistent. So halfway through reading the book, the spine fell off, leaving me with just the pages all glued together, barely, and slowly separating as well. The 4th book I got was as good as the 1st book at face value. The spine glue was thick and visible, the book didn't seem to present any problems till about half way through. I found a huge rip in the pages, only one page, but it cut through almost all the dialog on both paths, distorted the images of the characters and just felt like a bit of a downer to lose so much build in the story over this issue with how the book was probably handled.

I would recommend this story to anyone that likes the Walking Dead for the art style and writing felt very similar and the pacing felt on track with great rewards.
